Brilliant Cameo 1984 Prestige Proof Set was issued from the United
States Mint in 1984 at $59.00. We offer it "Under the Issue Price"!
The US Prestige Proof Set program only lasted 14 years, and only
issued 13 sets!
Consisting of the year's issue of regular proof coins, and the major
commemorative issue of that year, they were an instant hit and have
always been considered the "best" the mint had to offer. The mint
issued no commemorative dollar in 1985, so no Prestige set was issued!
The coins are housed in a book like set-up with velour bindings and a
sturdy outside box with the plastic inside case sealed. The Choice
Brilliant 1984 Prestige Proof Set pictured shows the Cameo Proof
Coins! The mint ended the series in 1997, as they were gearing up for
the state quarter series, and it would have been impractical to have
such a set with so many coins. The later years are fabulous for the
low mintage issues, and the prices reflect such. With the advent of
the Internet, prices are now climbing, for there are fewer sets than
there are collectors. Beautiful coins, and commemoratives, housed in
an attractive display box, this is a Great addition to any collection!! |
